It’s a great thing to do on the weekends. It’s a great thing to do at night after work, getting your home ready, painting it, and the only thing you’ll have to pay for is the materials.
- Be the Boss
The second way is to act as a general contractor. A lot of people think, oh man, I’m not a general contractor. I’m not saying you have to get a contractor’s license and be a general contractor. What I’m saying is you need to be a project manager.
If you’re not the DIY type and you can’t go through and do all the work or you just don’t have time to do the work then the next thing you could potentially do is just manage the project.

Get three bids from every single contractor that you wanna work with.

Another great thing you can do is work with handymen. Handymen typically charge by the hour so you can base your costs off an hourly rate. That’s another great tip when you’re acting as a general contractor.
